Establishments can be searched and mapped using a radius search of the devices location, establishment name, city, or zip code. Users can also browse and map establishments by state for the United States or by province for Canada. All results can be filtered by industry type (wine, beer, spirits, or cider). Information on individual establishments can be accessed by clicking the applicable map icon or from the list view. This information includes the establishments, address, phone, email, web address, weather forecast, navigation link from your device as well as links to the establishments Facebook, Twitter andor Google+ pages. The user can also share their thoughts of the establishment through links to various social media outlets. Works great for finding breweries while out on the road.
Location could never be found
I've tried everything to get this application to work bit it will not find current location and local breweries or distilleries.
Easy to use and very current; found a new micro brewery nearby only 10 weeks open.
Attempted to use this app on my Nexus 6P. Using location search, or searching by city name yielded no results each time. Listing by states was OK, but not what I was looking for in this app.
Well done job of providing quick access to wineries, breweries, distilleries, and cideries around you. Used this to plan out some vacation trips to try local brews and other small beverage producers.
I believe it is the only mobile application that contains information and maps establishments wineries, breweries, distilleries, and cideries in both the United States and Canada. I like that the lists are searchable and the establishment data is integrated into the phone's native functionality (phone, email, web, and navigation). There are even weather reports and integration into social media
I love the fact that theCompass contains data on wineries, breweries, and distilleries. Previously I had to open separate winery and brewery applications to find the same information. It also displays information by location for those of us in border regions and not simply by state. The search and filter functionality is also more robust than other applications and the establishment data is integrated into the phone's native functionality (phone, email, web, and navigation). There are even weather reports and integration into social media.
